Publication Regarding Hedge Fund Best Practices Initiatives

Below is a white paper that our partners Lucinda McConathy and Patricia O'Prey wrote with Charlotte Luer, of LJH Financial Marketing Strategies, LLC, summarizing recent initiatives in the United States and the United Kingdom regarding Hedge Fund Best Practices. The white paper discusses the recent Principles issued by the President's Working Group on Financial Markets in the United States, the Managed Funds Association's Sound Practices that were recently issued in response to the President's Working Group's Principles, and the U.K. Hedge Fund Working Group's Proposed Best Practices issued on October 9, 2007. These best practices initiatives may provide hedge funds with a unique opportunity to evaluate their own best practices and to participate in the global dialogue about what should be the best practices for hedge funds. In particular, comments on the proposed best practices from the U.K. Hedge Fund Working Group are due by December 14, 2007. Industry leaders expect to publish additional guidance in 2008 based on these on-going initiatives.
