Recent Successes: RK&O Secures Dismissal of Hedge Fund Client from Multi-District Class Action Litigation

On February 15, 2008, RK&O secured the voluntary dismissal with prejudice of securities fraud claims against our hedge fund client, Veras Investment Partners, LLC. Veras had been sued by a purported class of investors in the Alger mutual fund family for alleged late trading and unlawful market timing in a multidistrict lawsuit captioned In re Mutual Funds Investment Litigation. In this same litigation, RK&O had also previously prevailed on a motion to dismiss similar claims against Veras brought on behalf of investors in the Federated mutual fund family.
