Joon P. Hong represents investors in all aspects of complex bankruptcy proceedings and out of court restructuring transactions. He has represented investors in the purchase of assets in section 363 bankruptcy sales, debtor-in-possession financings, exit financings, preference and other avoidance litigations, and claims trading and reconciliation process.

Mr. Hong also assists clients in assessing credit risks of their investments and advises them in enforcing their rights and remedies to achieve their business and investment goals. Recent significant engagements include:

• Representing private fund in providing debtor-in-possession financing to an auto-parts manufacturer in bankruptcy and in the acquisition of the manufacturer through a 363 bankruptcy sale;
• Representing private fund in the acquisition of secured debt and in the financial restructuring of a fragrance company with both U.S. and foreign subsidiaries;
• Representing investor in the restructuring of senior debt of a cross-Atlantic passenger airline company;
• Representing private fund in the acquisition by UCC-9 foreclosure sale of a company, which provided publishing and information services to the financial services industry, and in the subsequent sale of the company to an industry purchaser;
• Representing investor in bidding for a lawn and garden products manufacturer in a 363 bankruptcy sale;
• Representing private fund in the proposed acquisition of and subsequent winding up of a sub-prime mortgage lender.

Mr. Hong is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and is admitted to practice in New York State, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
