On February 16, 2012, Richards Kibbe & Orbe LLP partner James Q. Walker spoke at “Preserving Privileges: Ethical Issues Confronting Insurers, Policyholders, & Counsel” sponsored by the New York City Bar Association. 

The panel topics included distinguishing "defense" communications & "coverage" communications, privilege implications of sharing information with businesspeople (such as brokers or claims handlers), the privilege implications of having multiple insureds with conflicting interests, insurance company evaluation of coverage claims and privilege waiver, and privilege issues relating to reinsurers.
