Richards Kibbe & Orbe partner Julia Lu spoke at Sync U.S. International's Credit Conference, which took place in San Francisco on January 27-28, 2016.
Ms. Lu's presentation, "FinTech Investing in the U.S.," covered various deal structures that Chinese investors can use to invest in FinTech companies in the U.S., as well as key legal issues pertaining to those transactions. Ms. Lu gave the presentation in Mandarin Chinese.
Industry representatives from China and the U.S. gathered at the conference to discuss Marketplace (P2P) Lending and possible cross-border investment and collaboration. According to Crowdfund Insider, China is currently home to the largest P2P lending market in the world, while the U.S. has the second largest industry market.
