Patricia C. O'Prey focuses on civil litigation, regulatory enforcement investigations and white-collar criminal defense. Ms. O’Prey represents both plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial and securities litigation, as well as institutions and individuals under government investigation, including investigation by criminal authorities, the SEC and other regulatory bodies. Some of the matters she has handled include:

• Co-lead counsel in a federal jury trial involving complex breach of contract and copyright infringement claims brought against an international business entity;
• Counsel for an investment fund bringing claims based on various breaches and misrepresentations of a stock purchase agreement;
• Represented plaintiff banks, insurance companies and hedge funds bringing federal securities fraud actions against promoters, accounting firms, investment banks, and attorneys in connection with securitizations of asset-backed securities; and
• Defended trusts, companies, corporate officers, securities professionals and individuals under investigation by the SEC and DOJ for alleged violations of the federal securities and criminal laws.

Ms. O'Prey is a member of the New York and California bars and is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeal, Ninth Circuit, the United States District for the Northern and Central Districts Court of California, the Southern District of New York, and the Northern District of Oklahoma. She is also a member of the Women in the Profession Committee at the New York City Bar.
