Jahan Sharifi is the co-chair of the Corporate Department at Richards Kibbe & Orbe LLP. He specializes in investment and financing transactions, including private equity and venture capital investments, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and private investments in public companies. He regularly assists private investment funds in investing in companies in a broad range of industries in the U.S. and other countries. He has broad experience in structuring complex investment vehicles, negotiating appropriate rights and protections for both minority and majority investors and for management.  more +

In addition to working with investment funds in negotiating portfolio investments, Mr. Sharifi represents sponsors in structuring and capitalizing new private investment funds. He has extensive experience representing both fund sponsors and investors in negotiating seed investments in new management companies and new funds.

Mr. Sharifi has been active in developing the firm’s marketplace lending practice. He represents clients establishing online lending platforms, including advising on securities laws applicable to such platforms, as well as federal and state law lending regulations.

Mr. Sharifi also regularly advises clients on complex issues relating to the receipt of confidential information, as well as market standards for non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements.

Mr. Sharifi is admitted to practice in New York.
