Robert J. Waldner focuses his practice on secondary distressed and high-yield debt transactions. He represents banks, broker-dealers, investment funds and other financial institutions in connection with the purchase and sale of various distressed assets, including bank loans, debt and equity securities, and claims against bankruptcy estates. Mr. Waldner has extensive experience in preparing and negotiating loan and claims trading documentation under both the LSTA and LMA regimes, as well as in advising clients with respect to sales and purchases of unregistered securities in the secondary market. more +
Mr. Waldner has advised clients in connection with transactions in bank loans, securities, trade claims and credit derivatives relating to both distressed and par borrowers including, among many others, Cengage Learning, iHeart Media, Longview Power, Lyondell, MF Global, MGM, Pacific Drilling, Paragon Offshore, Parmalat, Samson Investment Co., Seadrill, Tribune and TXU.
Prior to joining RK&O, Mr. Waldner was an associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, where he practiced in their M&A a Capital Markets groups.
