In relation to our client care responsibilities, RK&O’s complaints procedure aims to ensure that all complaints are handled quickly, fairly and effectively. Should a client have any concerns about the level of service they have received they should, in the first instance, contact the partner with whom they have been dealing. Alternatively, the firm’s General Counsel, James Q. Walker, can initiate the firm’s complaints procedure (a copy of which is available on request).
If for any reason the matter is still unresolved at the end of the complaints procedure, you may be entitled to refer the matter to the relevant regulator which, in the case of services provided by English solicitors, is the Legal Ombudsman. You may also be entitled to apply to the court for an assessment of our charges under Part III of the Solicitors Act 1974. However, the Legal Ombudsman may not consider your complaint if you have applied to the court for assessment of the bill. If all or a part of a bill remains unpaid RK&O may be entitled to charge interest.
