While the drop in prices is a concern for oil producing nations, investors might see this as an opportunity to capitalise on energy companies' discounted debt, anticipating a future recovery in price. "This may be the buying opportunity distressed debt investors have been waiting for, but investors should exercise caution," Mr. Haskel and Mr. Martin said.
