RK&O associate Margaret Meyers recently joined the New York City Law Department’s Public Service Program, a private/public partnership with New York City's most prominent law firms. Law firms lend attorneys to the Law Department for a finite period of time or agree to take on City cases in-house. The attorney volunteers receive hands-on, in-court litigation experience, which provides opportunities to enhance their legal skills while serving the public.
RK&O lawyers take and defend depositions through the Pro Bono Deposition Program in the Queens County Office. The team primarily covers cases in which the City or one of its employees is named as a Defendant, including motor vehicle accidents involving a City vehicle, false arrest cases, excessive force cases and negligence cases.
