Richards Kibbe & Orbe LLP associates Emily Kelley and Margot Laporte have been named to the 2017 Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll by the District of Columbia Court of Appeals and the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Ms. Laporte was recognized on the High Honor Roll for her contribution of 100 hours or more to indigent clients and nonprofit organizations in need of legal representation while Ms. Kelley was named to the Honor Roll for her contribution of more than 50 hours.

The Courts’ Chief Judges, in an open letter recognizing the honorees, observed that "As Chief Judges, we are acutely aware of the severe hardships faced by indigent individuals who all too often must represent themselves in proceedings in the DC Courts, often when the opposing party is represented. We salute you for using your talents and expertise to help those unable to afford an attorney, to ensure that they too have equal access to justice. Your compassion and dedication, as evidenced by your pro bono service, have helped to level the playing field."
