Richards Kibbe & Orbe LLP announced today that partner David B. Massey has been elected co-chair of the firm’s Litigation Department. Mr. Massey will join H. Rowan Gaither IV, who will continue in his role as co-chair of the Litigation group. Additionally, litigation partners Shari A. Brandt and David W.T. Daniels have been re-elected to the firm’s Executive Committee.

David B. Massey has more than 20 years of experience in government enforcement actions and financial disputes and serves as lead counsel to companies, board committees and individuals in high-profile cross-border white collar investigations, prosecutions and civil litigation. Mr. Massey joined RK&O as a partner in 2013 after serving nine years as a federal prosecutor in the Southern District of New York (SDNY). He has been recommended by Chambers USA and The Legal 500 United States in the areas of Corporate Investigations & White-Collar Criminal Defense.
H. Rowan Gaither IV brings decades of experience to his representations of clients in civil litigations, arbitrations and mediations, many of which arise out of the capital markets and financial services industries. He frequently represents the firm’s corporate clients in legal disputes involving exotic financial instruments and complex investments, with particular focus on litigations involving financial benchmarks, antitrust and civil RICO. Mr. Gaither has been recommended by The Legal 500 United States in the area of General Commercial Disputes.
Shari A. Brandt is a partner with more than 20 years of experience representing institutions and individuals in high stakes commercial civil litigation, regulatory and white-collar criminal proceedings, and internal investigations, often in matters involving financial services and complex financial products. Ms. Brandt has been recognized by Chambers USA and The Legal 500 United States in the areas of Corporate Investigations & White-Collar Criminal Defense and Securities Litigation.
David W.T. Daniels is an accomplished litigator who regularly represents leading hedge funds, investment advisers and other financial institutions. His practice focuses on disputes involving securities, capital markets and related complex commercial issues, and he also represents clients in securities enforcement matters and internal investigations. Mr. Daniels has been recognized by The Legal 500 United States in the area of General Commercial Disputes.
